St. Louis author claims business owners sold her work without permission

ST. LOUIS — A book author is suing business owners, citing alleged deliberate intent to copy plaintiff's written works.

Sheree M. Still of St. Louis filed a complaint May 11 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Demetric L. Whitlock, Amazing Media LLC, Black Rain LLC, Samuel Walker Williams, alleging that they knowingly acquired her written works without her permission or knowledge.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants helped her create a book cover, formatting the text and uploading each book separately. The plaintiff claims she discovered that her written works were stolen from her laptop and the books were sold and offered for free without her permission or knowledge.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to get consent before copying the written works, excluded the plaintiff from the activities and access to her books and sold the books without the plaintiff's permission or knowledge.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for costs incurred, attorney's fees and such other relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Gloria J. McColllum of Gloria J. McColllum LLC in St. Louis.
