ST. LOUIS — A driver and passenger are suing a motorist, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Clifton Franklin and Betty Rogers filed a complaint July 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jimmie Lee Sims, alleging that the motorist negligently failed to comply with the rules of the road.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan 1, 2016, they traveling on West Florissant Avenue when a Ford F-150 driven by Sims suddenly collided with their vehicle. They claim they sustained serious and permanent injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, mental anguish and disability, and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiffs hold Sims responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout and carelessly attempted to make a U-turn when it was unsafe to do so.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in plaintiffs favor in an amount in excess of $25,000 for each of them, costs for this suit and such other appropriate relief. They are represented by Ray B. Marglous of Ray B. Marglous PC in St. Louis.
