ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis consumer is suing a debt collector, citing alleged abusive debt collection practices.

Drevad Malkic filed a complaint Aug. 1 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Real Time Resolutions Inc., alleging the debt collector violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he was harassed and has suffered concrete harm for the charges incurred from incoming calls and listening to messages, and for lost time tending to unwanted calls. The plaintiff holds Real Time Resolutions responsible because the defendant allegedly made calls to the plaintiff's cellphone using an automated telephone dialing system or prerecorded voice.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages in excess of $25,000, compensatory and punitive damages as well as other proper relief. He is represented by Nathan D. Sturycz of Sturycz Law Group in Edwardsville, Illinois.
