Woman claims Delmar Boulevard accident was caused by negligent driver

Car accident 24

ST. LOUIS — A motor vehicle driver is suing Karrington Pettiford, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Gina Boland filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Pettiford alleging that he breached his duty to be careful while operating his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 30, 2014, she was traveling westbound along Delmar Boulevard near its intersection with DeBaliviere Boulevard when the defendant suddenly struck her vehicle. She allegedly suffered serious, permanent and personal injuries to her cervical spine, lumbar spine, head, chest, torso and other body parts; and incurred medical expenses of approximately $5,000.

The plaintiff holds Pettiford responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently followed his vehicle more closely than reasonable, carelessly made an improper turn and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in a sum exceeding $25,000, costs in bringing this action and all other relief that is proper and just. She is represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
