ST. LOUIS – A former executive director for a St. Louis business alleges he was terminated after returning from a medical leave.

Thaddeus Agar filed a complaint on June 14 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against BJC Health System, doing business as BJC Healthcare, et al. alleging disability discrimination under the Missouri Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for BJC in March 2015 and was hired as executive director for the supply chain in June 2015. The suit states he took a leave for a surgery in May 2017 and returned to work June 26, 2017, and was terminated the same day.

The plaintiff holds BJC Health System, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against him due to his disability and terminated his employment in retaliation for requesting accommodation for his disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Benjamin F. Westhoff of Sedey Harper Westhoff PC in St. Louis.
