Lawsuit: Ferguson police department discriminated against white officers after Michael Brown shooting

ST. LOUIS - The City of Ferguson and former Ferguson Chief of Police Delrish Moss were called to federal court in an employment discrimination lawsuit.

The complaint was filed on April 15 in the Eastern District of Missouri by plaintiff Alan B. Eickhoff, a Caucasian male who worked for approximately four years as the assistant police chief.

Eickhoff alleges that white police officers were treated with discrimination following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, including unfair allegations of policy violations and misconduct.

The complaint accuses defendant Moss, a Black man, of not forwarding misconduct complaints against Black officers to human resources as he did complaints against Caucasian officers.

Moss also hired another Black man to replace the plaintiff, according to the complaint, and gave Black employees preferential treatment and job duties.

The defendants are charged with wrongful discharge, harassment, hostile work environment, civil rights violations and Missouri Human Rights Act violation.

The plaintiff is represented by Uthoff, Graeber, Bobinette and Blanke of St. Louis.
