ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing spa and massage therapy providers, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Andria Ackerman filed a complaint on May 18 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, TEI LLC, Tropicana Entertainment Inc., Lumiere Place Casino & Hotels, Kamren M. Holbert, et al alleging that they violated the American Massage Therapy Association code of ethics.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in early 2016, she was molested by Four Seasons' employee Holbert. The plaintiff suffered personal and psychological injuries, emotional distress and trauma, and lost wages and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to instruct and train their employees to refrain from engaging in any sexual conduct involving their clients.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages not to exceed $10 million to deter defendants and others from committing similar acts, plus costs of this suit. She is represented by Thomas Q. Keefe Jr., Thomas Q. Keefe III and Samantha S. Unsell Keefe of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
