ST. LOUIS — St. Louis County residents are suing a driver, citing alleged negligence.

Ruben Hicks and Angelo Johnson filed a complaint Sept. 6 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Eric Elfrink, alleging he failed to operate his vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 31, 2015, Ruben Hicks and Angelo Johnson were in a vehicle traveling southbound lane of Hampton Avenue when the defendant, who was coming from the opposite direction, attempted to make a left turn and struck the passenger side of their vehicle. They sustained permanent and disabling injuries resulting in pain and anxiety and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiffs hold Elfrink responsible because the defendant allegedly operated his vehicle at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to yield right of way and to maintain a careful lookout.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $25,000, plus interest, costs and expenses and all other relief as the court may deem just and proper. They are represented by John L. Wilbers of The Wilbers Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
