Driver accuses city of St. Louis employee of violating right of way in crash

Car accident 03

ST. LOUIS — A driver is suing the city of St. Louis and employee, citing alleged negligence.

Michael Jacobs filed a complaint Sept. 18 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against the city of St. Louis and Eric Conway, alleging that the defendants failed their duty to exercise due care for the safety of others using a public roadway.

According to the complaint, Jacobs alleges that on Jan. 19, he was driving south on Hampton Avenue when he was struck by Conway, who was driving east on Itaska Avenue while he was working for the city of St. Louis. As a result, Jacobs claims he suffered physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Conway allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to yield the right-of-way.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for a fair and reasonable sum in excess of $25,000, together with costs expended. He is represented by Walter L. Floyd of The Floyd Law Firm PC in St. Louis.
