ST. LOUIS — A pedestrian with her representative are suing a motorist for allegedly striking her with a vehicle,  causing serious injuries.

Laurenta Avdyli, by and through her next friend Merita Avdyli, filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Stephanie Kimbly alleging that the defendant failed her duty as a motorist to warn a pedestrian of an approaching vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 27, 2014 Avdyli was walking across Loughborough Avenue when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle driven by Kimbly. As a result, Avdyli claims she sustained physical injuries and incurred medical bills in excess of $1,682.26.

The plaintiffs holds Kimbly responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to have a careful and vigilant lookout and watch ahead on the road, failed to yield the right of way of pedestrians, and failed to sound a warning.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in an amount in excess of $25,000 for all costs, and for such other and further relief deemed just. They are represented by Robert S. Merlin and Sarah H. Hale of Ray B. Marglous, PC in St. Louis.
