First Student Inc., driver accused of negligence

ST. LOUIS — An individual is suing Joanna Nelson and First Student Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Lillie Mason, by and through her mother, Andromakee Butler, filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the St. Louis Circuit Court, alleging that Nelson failed keep her vehicle under control at all times.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Nelson, who was allegedly acting within the scope of her employment at First Student Inc., on April 19, 2016 when the vehicle allegedly ran over a street curb. The plaintiff claims that she sustained injuries and incurred medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Nelson responsible for allegedly driving her vehicle at a high and dangerous speed and for allegedly failing to stop before hitting the curb.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $25,000, court costs, pre-judgment interest and all further orders that are just and proper. She is represented by Keith P. Gray of Keith P. Gray Law Office in St. Louis.
