Armstrong Teasdale Associate Thor Mathison has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Introduced in 2004, the CIPP is the world’s first broad-based global privacy and data protection credentialing program.
Accredited by the American National Standards Institute, the CIPP/US credential indicates that the holder has a foundational understanding of broad global concepts of privacy and data protection law and practice, including jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models; essential privacy concepts and principles; legal requirements for handling and transferring data and more.
Mathison is the fourth attorney at Armstrong Teasdale to earn this credential, which enhances his practice by indicating his ability to counsel clients about security flaws and techniques to protect their data.
