ST. LOUIS (Legal Newsline) — Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has announced preliminary injunctions against Beverley Diltz, Critique Services LLC, Renee Mayweather, Dean Meriweather and Robert Dellamano after allegations of violating the state’s Merchandising Practices Act.
“This preliminary injunction is a vindication of the many complaints consumers voiced to my office,” Koster said. “With the business shut down, we can ensure it no longer preys on desperate clients. As the case continues, we will seek justice for those who have been victimized and insist on safeguards to prevent the company from deceiving anyone else.”
Effective April 21 and through the entirety of the lawsuit, the defendants cannot spend or disburse money received for bankruptcy services, advertise, solicit or offer bankruptcy services, or form other bankruptcy businesses.
Koster’s lawsuit alleges the defendants misled consumers by making them believe they would receive prompt bankruptcy services. According to Koster’s office, however, the defendants would delay services for months or years and often never initiate bankruptcy proceedings.
