ST. LOUIS — A man has filed a class-action lawsuit against St. Louis-based IT company Russell Technologies, Inc. d/b/a Computer St. Louis, Seth Russell and Nicole Russell, citing alleged violation of applicable minimum wage law and violation of workers compensation acts.
Jeremy Place filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against the defendants, alleging that they failed their duty to pay employees for all hours worked at a correct rate.
According to the complaint, Place alleges that he and other employees have suffered damages from being misclassified as exempt employees to save on payroll costs, which caused plaintiffs to lose overtime wages and earned extra profits for the defendants at the plaintiffs' expense. The plaintiffs hold Russell Technologies, Seth Russell and Nicole Russell responsible because they allegedly misclassified plaintiffs in direct violation of the labor code, failed to pay plaintiff overtime wages and failed to compensate plaintiffs for all hours worked.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants, declaratory relief, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs, expenses, interest and other relief as the court deems fair.
