ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis County woman is suing the United States of America, citing alleged negligence.

Sabrina Jack filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against the United States of America alleging that the government's employee failed to exercise standard care and skill required in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, Jack alleges that on July 16, 2015, she sustained injuries to her back, neck and left shoulder and incurred medical expenses after being rear-ended by a vehicle driven by the defendant's employee, Melvin Perry Jr., who was driving a semi-truck for the United States Postal Service. An official letter of denial for her claim was sent by USPS on Oct. 7. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because its employee allegedly failed to yield the right of way to plaintiff and drove at an excessive speed and it failed to train and supervise employees on proper vehicle operation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the amount of $439,128.89. She is represented by Gary K. Burger of Burger Law LLC in St. Louis.
