Motorist alleges Missouri trucking company's employee drove too fast

Car accident 22

ST. LOUIS — A Hecker, Illinois, resident is suing a Rosebud-based trucking company and a driver, citing alleged negligence.

Connie Melching filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Scott Edward Buchheit of New Haven and Woody Bogler Trucking Co. alleging that the Missouri company and its driver failed to exercise standard care and skill required in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 14, 2015, she suffered severe and permanent injuries, disability, disfigurement, great physical pain, mental anguish and medical expenses, the ability to enjoy life and past and future earnings as a result of Buchheit's negligence in operating a vehicle owned by Woody Bogler Trucking. Buchheit's vehicle collided with the plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to keep the vehicle under control, drove at a speed greater than reasonable and failed to keep a proper lookout for other other vehicles.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in excess of $75,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by Jeffrey A. Kopis of Kopis Law in Belleville, Illinois.
