ST. LOUIS — A customer is suing OG Hospitality Group LLC d/b/a The Corner Pub & Grill for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Velma L. Niemann filed a complaint on July 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Eastern Division, alleging that the defendant breached its duty to use ordinary care to protect its customers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was walking in the defendant's restaurant to be seated on Sept. 14, 2015 when she tripped and fell over a wrinkled carpet on the floor.

She claims that she suffered severe physical and emotional pain, medical and other expenses and loss of ability to enjoy life. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to remove the wrinkle in the carpet, adjust the carpet and warn her of the danger of the wrinkled carpet.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $75,000, costs, post-judgment interest and such other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by David T. Butsch and Christopher E. Roberts of Butsch Roberts & Associates LLC in Clayton, Missouri.
