ST. LOUIS — A man is suing Saint Charles County, Cpl. Robert Bell III and Lt. Mark O'Neill for alleged false arrest and false imprisonment.

Jeffrey L. Leckrone filed a complaint on July 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, alleging that the defendants violated the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered extreme mental distress, fear and humiliation, costs for his arrest, attorney fees of $7,000 to defend himself and partial loss of custody of his minor child. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because for allegedly willfully ignoring his request to take a breathalyzer test, arresting him without probable cause and filing a police report containing false statements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in the amount that is fair and reasonable for the damages he sustained, attorney's fees and court costs. He is represented by Frank R. Ledbetter of Ledbetter Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
