Medical malpractice 03

ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing pit bull owners, citing alleged negligence.

Karyn Smith filed a complaint in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Tracey Dickerson and Harvey Dickerson, alleging that they failed to prevent their dog from attacking others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 8, she was walking on a public sidewalk in St. Louis when the defendants' pit bull lunged at her and bit her left leg. She claims she has incurred medical expenses and suffered emotional distress, as well as phobia of dogs. The plaintiff holds Tracey Dickerson and Harvey Dickerson responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly restrain their dog.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of over $25,000, costs incurred for this action and any further relief the court deems proper. She is represented by Teneil Kellerman of Growe Eisen Karlen in St. Louis and William Goldstein of William Goldstein Attorney at Law in St. Louis.
