ST. LOUIS — A customer is suing Bank of America N.A. citing alleged racial and religious discrimination.
Mohamed Amin Mohamed filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Bank of America, alleging that the financial institution tortiously interfered with his business expectations based on racial/cultural/religious animus.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 19, he received a letter from the defendant qualifying him for a loan in the amount of $240,000 with an expected 25 percent down payment, but on July 26 the bank sent him a letter stating the loan did not meet the occupancy requirements despite the property being "non-owner occupied."
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages not exceeding $74,000 and any further relief that the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Vincent A. Banks III of Vincent A. Banks III Law Office in St. Louis.
