Motorist allegedly fell asleep and hit light pole

Car accident 19

ST. LOUIS — A man is suing a motorist, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Joe Bryant filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jonathan Cannon alleging that he  failed to exercise the highest degree of care while operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 29, 2016 Cannon fell asleep while driving a motor vehicle and swerved into a light pole. As a result of the crash, Bryant sustained injuries to his neck and back, and was caused to suffer pain and suffering, decreased mobility and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Cannon responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to remain alert while driving and negligently caused his vehicle to collide with a street light.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages in a fair and reasonable amount of more than $25,000, costs of court, and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Jared Gab of Law Offices of Derald L. Gab PC in St. Louis.
