Motorist claims negligence in North Broadway crash

Car accident 17

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing another motorist, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Babar Sheikh filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Amber Kalagian alleging that she failed to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 3, 2017 he was operating a motor vehicle heading south on North Broadway and was stopped at its intersection with Biddle when suddenly the defendant crashed into the rear of his vehicle. He allegedly suffered injuries to his neck, shoulder, back, a C4-5 disc protrusion, C5-6 disc protrusion and tear of the rotator cuff tendons.

The plaintiff holds Kalagian responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep careful lookout, failed to maintain a safe distance and failed to stop before crashing into the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks compensatory damages of more than $25,000, with interest, costs, and any other proper and necessary relief. He is represented by Benjamin J. Sansone of Sansone Sumner & Lauber in Clayton, Missouri.
