GEICO accused of breach of contract

Insurance 01

ST. LOUIS — An insured motorist is suing GEICO Casualty Company, alleging breach of contract.

Jeannette Ricks filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against GEICO alleging that the insurance company failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 22, 2017 she was injured in a motor vehicle accident negligently caused by an uninsured motorist. She allegedly sustained serious, painful, disfiguring and permanent injuries; and was caused to incur medical expenses in excess of $9,000. The plaintiff demanded payment in accordance with the uninsured motorist coverage under her insurance policy issued by the defendant.

The plaintiff holds GEICO responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay plaintiff's claim for damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks damages of in a fair and reasonable amount of more than $25,000, costs herein expended, and all other relief that are just and proper. She is represented by Julie S. Siegel of Frankel, Rubin, Klein, Dubin, Siegel & Payne PC in St. Louis.
