Motorist allegedly intoxicated when he drove vehicle into another car

Car accident 28

ST. LOUIS — A motorist and her two passengers are suing another driver, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Lisa Underwood, Lynda Bland and Tuffy Bland filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Nicholas Lauer alleging that he failed to maintain his vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 3, 2017 Lisa Underwood, Lynda Bland and Tuffy Bland were in a motor vehicle exiting onto Jefferson Avenue when suddenly and without warning the defendant crashed into the rear of their vehicle. They allegedly  suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies and incurred medical bills for the treatment of those injuries.

The plaintiffs hold Lauer responsible because he allegedly negligently drove his vehicle while intoxicated, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to yield right of way.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury; and seek judgment against the defendant for damages in an amount to be determined by jury, and any further relief that are just and proper. They are represented by Gary K. Burger and Michael P. Singer of Burger Law LLC in St. Louis.
