Man claims he tripped and fell on defective deck

ST. LOUIS — An invitee is suing CRI Commercial Properties Inc. and Harrow Management LLC, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Kenneth Garr filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 21, 2017, he was an invitee at defendants' premises at 3745 Wisconsin Ave. when he tripped on a defective board on the deck of the common area and fell. He allegedly suffered injuries to his neck, head and back; medical expenses; loss of ability to work; and impairment to enjoy life. 

The plaintiff holds CRI Commercial Properties Inc. and Harrow Management LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently maintained the common area in a dangerous and defective condition, and failed to provide warnings and cautions of the unsafe nature of the deck.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of $25,000, costs of court and all other relief that are just under the circumstances. He is represented by William K. Holland of Goldblatt + Singer in St. Louis.
