Man accused of causing accident in airport garage

Car accident 18

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing Fernando L. Vasquez, another driver, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Shimelis Tigu filed a complaint on Feb. 4 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Vasquez alleging that he breached his duty to operate a vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 18, 2017 he was traveling west in the through lane of the main garage at St. Louis Lambert Airport when the defendant suddenly turned left and struck his vehicle. He allegedly suffered a left posterior disc bulge, causing spinal canal narrowing; and incurred medical expenses and lost of income.

The plaintiff holds Vasquez responsible because he allegedly carelessly drove his vehicle too fast for the existing condition, failed to yield and failed to use evasive maneuvers to avoid the accident.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of the court's minimum jurisdiction, and all other relief that is just and equitable. He is represented by Brian Stokes of The Stokes Law Office in St. Louis.
