Driver accused of negligence after car accident

ST. LOUIS — An automobile driver is suing Ariel Jasper, another driver, for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Scott Kell filed a complaint on Feb. 11 in the St. Louis Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached his duty to maintain control of his vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was traveling east on Chippewa Street near Kingshighway Road on March 10, 2013 when his vehicle was allegedly struck from behind by the defendant's vehicle, which allegedly caused the plaintiff to sustain serious and permanent injuries to his back, neck, left shoulder and knees. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to keep a careful lookout and reduce his speed or stop to avoid colliding with the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in a fair and reasonable amount exceeding $25,000. He is represented by John C. Weller of John C. Weller PC in St. Louis.
