Bi-State bus passenger sues over accident

Car accident 26

ST. LOUIS — A bus passenger is suing a motor vehicle driver, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Natasha Ware filed a complaint on Feb. 19 in the St Louis Circuit Court against Oscar Simpson alleging that he failed to keep proper control of the vehicle he was driving.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, 2017, she was a passenger on a Bi-State bus when the defendant negligently hit it with his vehicle while changing lanes. In the process, Ware allegedly suffered serious, permanent and personal injuries to her cervical spine, lumbar spine, head, torso and limbs; and incurred medical expenses of approximately $6,000.

The plaintiff holds Simpson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep careful lookout, failed to yield the right of way and carelessly made an improper lane change.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in a fair and reasonable amount exceeding $25,000, and any other and further relief that is proper and just. She is represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
