Woman claims other driver caused wreck on Washington Avenue

Car accident 05

ST. LOUIS — A motor vehicle driver is suing Dia Roberts, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Deandre Bowles-Martin filed a complaint on March 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court alleging that Roberts  breached her duty to exercise the highest degree of care while operating an automobile.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 4, 2016 he was driving on Washington Avenue at its intersection with 9th Street when Roberts, who was driving a large vehicle, suddenly attempted to make a right turn and crashed into his vehicle, causing him to drive over the curb and crash into a fire hydrant. He allegedly suffered trauma injuries to his left arm, making it unusable; and incurred medical bills of $13,458.86.

The plaintiff holds Roberts responsible because the defendant allegedly carelessly drove her vehicle while distracted and failed to keep careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant in excess of $25,000, plus costs, and all other remedies that are proper and necessary. He is represented by Alvin Wolff Jr. and Alexander Wolff of Wolff & Wolff Trial Lawyers in St. Louis.
