ST. LOUIS – A Cole County company alleges more than $300,000 worth of inventory was lost in a warehouse fire.

Disaster Relief & Innovative Protection Systems LLC filed a complaint on March 9 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against GFA Decorative Trade Services Inc., doing business as Park Warehouse Service, and Folsom Group II alleging breach of bailment contract and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff contracted with the defendants to store inventory at the defendants' warehouse. The suit states that on Nov. 15, 2017, a fire at defendants' St. Louis warehouse caused total destruction to plaintiff's inventory of flood protection barrier systems valued at approximately $322,560.

The plaintiff holds GFA Decorative Trade Services Inc. and Folsom Group II LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently maintained unsafe and hazardous conditions at the warehouse, which caused the fire and the destruction of plaintiff's inventory.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for actual damages, with interest, lost profits, loss of goodwill, attorney fees costs and all other relief that is fair and reasonable. It is represented by Michael C. Schroeder and Mandy Kamykowski of Kamykowski, Gavin & Smith PC in St. Louis.
