Driver seeks underinsured motorist benefits from Safeco Insurance Co.

Contract 05

ST. LOUIS – A driver is seeking coverage from his insurer over alleged damages sustained in a collision on Gravois Road in St. Louis County.

John T. Edgecombe filed a complaint on March 20 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Safeco Insurance Co. of Illinois alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Oct. 7, 2017, he was injured when his vehicle was struck from the rear by Amber N. Sease, an underinsured motorist. The plaintiff alleges he incurred damages of more than $25,000 and filed a claim for underinsured motorist coverage under the insurance policy issued by the defendant, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds Safeco Insurance Co. of Illinois responsible because the defendant allegedly breached the contract.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000 but not more than $75,000, costs of court and all other relief that is proper and just. He is represented by Thomas E. Schwartz of Holloran Schwartz & Gaertner LLP in St. Louis.
