Farm Bureau Town & Country Insurance alleged to have refused to provide uninsured motorist coverage

Insurance 03

ST. LOUIS – A Missouri resident alleges that an insurance company refused to honor its obligations regarding uninsured motorist coverage.

Diamond Terry filed a complaint April 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Farm Bureau Town & Country Insurance Co. Inc. and John Doe alleging vexatious refusal, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 19, 2017, the plaintiff suffered a covered loss as a result of the carelessness and negligence of an uninsured motorist while the insurance policy issued by defendants were in full force and effect.

The plaintiff allegedly suffered severe and permanent injuries that resulted in medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Farm Bureau Town & Country Insurance Co. Inc. and John Doe responsible because the defendants allegedly failed and refused to honor their own obligations under the insurance policy without reasonable cause or excuse.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount between $25,000 and $75,000, costs of these proceedings and all other relief that is just and equitable. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher Hoffmann of The Hoffmann Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
