Driver alleges speed was a factor in I-55 auto accident

Car accident 20

ST. LOUIS – An Edwardsville, Illinois man is alleged to have driven too fast and caused a collision on Interstate 55 in St. Louis.

Percy Holmes filed a complaint in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jon Parkin alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 20, 2014, he was injured when his vehicle was struck by the defendant's vehicle on I-55 near Seventh Street. He alleges he suffered injuries to his neck, back, head and left upper extremity and incurred medical care and treatment expenses.

The plaintiff holds Parkin responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently drove his vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000, with interest, costs and all other appropriate relief. He is represented by Scott L. Kolker of DeFeo and Kolker LLC in Clayton.
