Woman alleges GEICO failed to offer reasonable amount for collision injury claim

Insurance 04

ST. LOUIS – A woman alleges she was injured in an auto accident in St. Louis and that her insurer has refused to pay her a reasonable amount under her policy.

Lyndia Hughes filed a complaint on April 10 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against GEICO General Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 6, 2017, she was injured in a motor vehicle collision due to the carelessness of an unknown/uninsured motorist. She alleges she suffered serious, permanent, disabling and painful injuries and incurred medical expenses of approximately $16,000.

The suit states the plaintiff demanded payment for the uninsured motorist benefits under the insurance policy issued by defendant and the defendant allegedly failed and refused to offer a reasonable amount to settle plaintiff's claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in a reasonable amount between $25,000 and $75,000, and all other relief that is just and proper. She is represented by Ray B. Marglous, Robert S. Merlin and Sarah H. Hale of Ray B. Marglous PC in St. Louis.
