ST. LOUIS – An African-American tenant alleges Fairway Management Inc. discriminated against her and other African-American tenants.
Regina Brand filed a complaint on April 25 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Fairway Management Inc. alleging she was discriminated against because of her race, gender and disability.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a tenant at defendant's Hickory Hollow subdivision. She alleges a Caucasian tenant had an "illegal 'live-in boyfriend'" that stalked another tenant and that she notified the defendant's corporate members about the boyfriend in April 2014. She also alleges that the defendants failed to make repairs in a timely manner.
The plaintiff holds Fairway Management Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly threatened her with eviction and refused to refund her security deposit.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, in the sum of $400,000 and all other relief that are proper and just. She is representing herself.
