Man alleges driver ran red light in St. Louis, caused accident

Car accident 12

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man alleges he was injured in an auto accident caused by a driver who ran a red light.

Paris L. Gammage Jr. filed a complaint on April 28 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Mariah C. Smith alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 28, he was traveling on South Kingshighway Boulevard preparing to turn left into Barnes-Jewish Hospital when defendant negligently drove through the red light traffic and struck his vehicle. He alleges he suffered serious, permanent and painful injuries to his back, knees and other parts of his body as a result of the accident.

The plaintiff holds Smith responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield and failed to stop for a red light.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $25,000, costs for medical care and treatment and loss of income and costs expended herein. He is represented by James J. Knappenberger in Clayton.
