ST. LOUIS – A mother and son are seeking more than $25,000 after the minor was injured in a fall in a laundromat parking lot.

Jaylen Wilkes, a minor, by and through his next friend, Shaunte Wilkes, filed a complaint on June 4 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against White Picket Fence LLC, doing business as Tiny Bubbles Laundromat, and Smileyface Investments LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 18, 2012, Jaylen Wilkes was injured at defendants' premises when he stepped on a large pothole and fell to the ground, breaking a glass bottle he was holding and causing laceration to his wrist. He alleges he suffered permanent scarring, pain and suffering and humiliation as a result.

The plaintiffs hold White Picket Fence LLC and Smileyface Investments LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to remove, warn and repair the defective and dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants of more than $25,000, and all further relief that are reasonable and proper. They are represented by Christopher S. Saracino of Goldblatt & Singer in Clayton.
