ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis corporation is alleged to have defaulted on a loan issued by an Alabama banking corporation.

Regions Bank filed a complaint on June 6 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against St. Louis Internal Medicine Inc. and Brij Vaid alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2008 and 2010, the defendants delivered promissory notes and guaranty agreements in the total amount of $1,490,129.08 for the benefits of plaintiff. As of Nov. 23, 2013, the amount of $179,721.80 allegedly remains due and owing.

The plaintiff holds St. Louis Internal Medicine Inc. and Vaid responsible because despite demand for payments by means of a letter dated Oct. 23, 2017, the defendants allegedly failed to make payments for the remaining balance.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in the amount of $179,721.80, plus accrued interest, attorney fees, costs and expenses and all further relief that are lawful. It is represented by Nicole Berkowitz of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC in Memphis, Tennessee.
