ST. LOUIS – A minor pedestrian struck at a St. Louis crosswalk and his mother are seeking damages from the driver that struck him.

Jamarion Austin, a minor, and Shatoni R. Vantreece filed a complaint on June 15 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Florence Hudson alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Sept. 11, 2016, Austin was injured when defendant struck him while he was crossing the intersection of Cass Avenue and 14th Street.

The suit states Austin suffered serious and permanent injuries to his cervical spine, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, head, shoulders and legs and incurred medical expenses of approximately $15,000.

The plaintiffs hold Hudson responsible because the defendant allegedly violated the electric red light signal, failed to yield to the right of way and failed to keep a proper and careful lookout.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant of more than $25,000 for each plaintiff, plus costs and all other relief that is proper and just. They are represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
