ST. LOUIS – An installation technician alleges he was misclassified as an independent contractor and was not paid overtime wages.

Alex Turner, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on June 28 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Synergies 3 TEC Services LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Missouri Minimum Wage Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from 2013 until March 2018. He alleges he typically worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime compensation.

The plaintiff holds Synergies3 TEC Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly misclassified them as independent contractors and failed and refused to pay overtime wages for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, with interest, attorney fees, costs and all other relief that is fair and equitable. He is represented by Mark Potashnick of Weinhaus & Potashnick in St. Louis; Eli Karsh of Liberman, Goldstein & Karsh in Clayton; and Richard D. Grossman of Grossman Law Firm in St. Louis.
