Mother, child allege injuries after collision with Metro employee in St. Louis

Lawsuits

ST. LOUIS – A mother and minor child allege they were injured when a Metro employee collided with their vehicle.

Mystique Irving, individually and as next friend and mother of Christopher Irving, a minor filed a complaint on July 2 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Bi-State Development Co., doing business as Metro, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 15, 2014, they were injured when their vehicle was hit by defendant's employee, Donald Eckert, on Enright at or near its intersection with Delmar in St. Louis. They allege they suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies and incurred medical expenses of approximately $16,000 and may incur further expenses in the future.

The plaintiffs hold Bi-State Development Co. responsible because the defendant's employee failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield to the right of way and negligently drove at an excessive speed.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant of more than $25,000, plus interest, costs and such other just and proper relief. They are represented by Matthew J. Sauter of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
