ST. LOUIS – A woman allegedly injured in a collision with a phantom driver is seeking damages from her insurance company.
Adrienne Bateman filed a complaint on June 29, in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Young America Insurance Co. citing uninsured motorist bodily injury.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 29, 2015, she sustained injuries arising out of the carelessness of a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of Genevieve and Lillian avenues in St. Louis. She alleges she suffered injuries to her neck and back and incurred medical expenses of more than $6,000.
At the time of the accident, she alleges she was covered with the uninsured motorist coverage under the policy provided by defendant.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, with interest, costs, penalties and expenses. She is represented by Thomas P. Traube of Sorrell & Traube in St. Louis.
