ST. LOUIS – A patron of a St. Louis grocery store alleges he was injured when an employee pushed a hand truck into him and caused him to fall.

Marcus Wilson filed a complaint on July 10 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against John Doe and Schnuck Markets Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 10, 2013, he was injured at defendants' grocery store when defendant Doe pushed a hand truck with a pallet in his direction, causing him to fall. He alleges he suffered injuries to his back and incurred medical expenses of more than $15,000 as a result of the incident.

The plaintiff holds John Doe and Schnuck Markets Inc. responsible because defendant Doe failed to take notice of the surroundings before pushing the hand truck and failed and omitted to give any signal or warning of the impending danger.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs and such other and further relief that are proper and just. He is represented by Cecil L. Skaggs of Central West End Law Office in St. Louis.
