ST. LOUIS – A former tenant of a St. Louis apartment building alleges she was not provided heat in the 2013 winter.

Judy Long filed a complaint on July 19 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Joseph Lee alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in the winter of 2013, she was a resident at defendant's building known as 1900 Belt Avenue. She alleges on Feb. 20, 2013, she fell on the common area of the building because of a hose that was across the stairway.  She also alleges that the defendant failed to provide heat to her apartment in the winter of 2013.

She alleges she suffered injuries to her shoulder and damages of more than $25,000 because of the fall and lack of heat.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in her favor in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and interest and all other relief that are just and proper. She is represented by David C. Knieriem of The Law Offices of David C. Knieriem in Clayton.
