ST. LOUIS – A shopper at a St. Louis grocery store alleges water leaking from cases of water caused her to fall.

Sonja Tabron filed a complaint on July 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Schnuck Markets Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 31, 2017, she was a customer at defendant's grocery store when she slipped and fell on water that had leaked out of a case. She alleges she suffered severe and permanent injuries to her left knee, loss of ability to work and incurred medical expenses as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Schnuck Markets Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly unload and stack the cases of water in the store and failed to properly inspect the cases on the shelves.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and any other relief that is just and proper. She is represented by Thomas E. Schwartz and Rebecca E. Grossman of Holloran Schwartz & Gaertner LLP in St. Louis.
