ST. LOUIS – The operator of Segway tours in St. Louis is facing a suit from a tour participant who alleges she fell from the personal transporter and sustained fractures.

Patricia O'Connor filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Glide St. Louis Tours LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 3, 2015, she was a participant in a Segway tour offered by the defendant in Forest Park and was injured when she fell to the concrete ground while attempting to avoid running over another tour participant that had fallen. She alleges she sustained fractures to her left ankle and right knee in the fall.

The plaintiff holds Glide St. Louis Tours LLC responsible because the defendant's tour guide allegedly showed complete indifference to or conscious disregard for the safety of others.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that is fair and reasonable, with interest, costs and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by Edward K. Fehlig Jr. of Fehlig & Fehlig-Tatum in St. Louis; Mandy M. Shell of Shell Law & Tax LLC in Kansas City; and James Dean Walker of James Dean Walker Law LLC in Kansas City.
