ST. LOUIS – A California corporation is seeking compensation from the owners of a St. Louis warehouse after a fire destroyed its property.

J&A Corp., formerly known as Ace Floor Co. Inc. and doing business as Naturally Aged Flooring, filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against GFA Decorative Trade Services Inc., doing business as Park Warehouse Services, and Folsom Group II LLC alleging breach of bailment contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 15, 2017, its inventory stored at defendants' Park Warehouse worth approximately $200,000 was destroyed by fire. It alleges that despite demand, the defendants have failed and refused to compensate it for its loss.

The plaintiff holds GFA Decorative Trade Services, Inc. and Folsom Group II LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain an appropriate fire suppression system and failed and refused to compensate plaintiff for the loss of the inventory.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $200,000, together with interest, costs and all other just and proper relief. It is represented by Marisa L. Saber of Cozen O'Connor in Chicago.
