Colorado man alleges driver failed to stop at red light at St. Louis intersection

ST. LOUIS – A Colorado couple is seeking damages from a Missouri driver over a collision at a St. Louis intersection.

Scott Vanourek and Lori Vanourek filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jordyn Benson alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 4, Scott Vanourek was injured when defendant struck the vehicle he was driving on Market Street near its intersection with Tucker Boulevard in St. Louis. He alleges he suffered severe and permanent injuries resulting in pain, medical expenses and loss of ability to enjoy life as a result of the accident, while Lori Vanourek alleges she suffered the loss of service and consortium of her husband. 

The plaintiffs hold Benson responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to stop at a red light, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000. plus costs and all further relief that are proper and just. They are represented by Thomas E. Schwartz of Holloran Schwartz & Gaertner LLP in St. Louis.
