ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis father and his minor son have failed suit against a physician and medical care providers over arm injuries the minor suffered during birth.

Dwan Owens and Maxx A. Cole filed a complaint on Aug. 26 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Jacqueline Turner MD, et al. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 26, 2016, Marcia Cole presented to Barnes-Jewish Hospital with labor pain and Turner was her treating and delivery obstetrician. During delivery, the plaintiffs allege the defendants negligently injured infant Cole by breaking his arm and causing debilitating nerve damage to the other arm.

The plaintiffs hold Turner, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to use such care as reasonably prudent.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and all other appropriate relief deemed just and proper. They are represented by Karen T. Louis of Karen T. Louis LLC in Florissant.
