ST. LOUIS – A man who was injured after falling while exiting a MetroLink train alleges negligence was a factor in the event.

John Allen filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District, doing business as Metro, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 26, 2017, he was attempting to exit the MetroLink train at the Central West End station and became trapped upside down between the train and platform. The suit states he had to be extracted by emergency personnel and his legs, torso, arms and head were injured.

The plaintiff holds Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain a safe and secure environment and failed to give adequate warning of the inherently dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages of more than $25,000, with interest, and all other relief that are just and proper. He is represented by Bret M. Rich in St. Louis.
